CorkÕs newest Bar ÔThe BeggarmanÕ officially opens.
ÔThe BeggarmanÕ officially opens on Friday the 11th of April, the bar, located close to St FinbarrÕs Cathedral on Gillabbey Street has been re-named and is under new management.
The Beggarman is a beautiful old-fashioned bar, which has a local feel in the heart of the city. This local feel is reflected in the produce on offer; the bar stocks many locally produced craft beers (BlackÕs Kinsale Pale Ale, BlackÕs Black, Bru Rua to name a few) as well as the usual favourites. A new wine list will be launched with local wine supplier Bubble Brothers and will feature some small producers from France and Spain.
The Beggarman has existing weekly music sessions, one of which is the longest running music session in the city; The Gillbillies, who have been playing an eclectic mix of Jazz, old time and music of the forties on Tuesday nights for the last 35 years, a night not to be missed! There will also be various sessions throughout the week, focusing on traditional music from Ireland and abroad.
The Beggarman has a unique feature which has not been seen in the city before, ÔThe Cinema Bar,Õ the space will be used by the creative community for screening their locally produced film, local theatre groups for showcasing their work in an intimate venue and there will be ongoing screenings of contemporary movies on an ongoing basis.
The Beggarman is open seven days a week. Please refer to the facebook page thebeggarmanbar for further details.
