Noah and Leon O'Shea congratulate their father Alex O’Shea, Cork firefighter after he set a new Guinness World Record for running a marathon in full firefighting gear in a time of 3 hours 41 minutes and 10 seconds. Alex shaved almost 1 hours (58 minutes) off the previous record set at the London Marathon earlier this year;

Over 7000 runners will take part in the internationally recognised Cork City Marathon organised by Cork City Council in partnership with Athletics Ireland BHAA Cork Education and Training Board and an Garda Síochána and volunteer organisations.
