 The Ultimate challenge...Chief Marshall and former World Mountain Runner, John Lenihan,right, with fellow athlete Martin Dineen, Checking out the terrain for The Kerry Way Ultra - a non stop endurance race, along the famous The Kerry Way Walking Trail, a distance of 189.05km to be exact. 50 Athletes will endure this mammoth non stop race - the equivalent to 4.5 Marathons.The Kerry Way Ultra starts on Friday 5th September at 6.00am from Killarney Tourist Office, which is the official starting point of the Kerry Way. The Race has already been named ‘Ireland’s most brutal race’. It stretches along the Wild Atlantic Way, circling the Iveragh Peninsula and traversing one of Ireland’s most spectacular mountain ranges with magnificent coastal views, lakes.There will be live tracking of the event with a Leaderboard in the window of Kerry Outdoor Sports in Killarney showing the participants position.Photo:Valerie O'Sullivan
