A Chin Tribeswoman in the rural Rakhine state in Myanmar(Burma) sits next to the handwoven scarves she is selling. Her facial tattoos are said to have come from a tradition that began hundreds of years ago when the most beautiful women of the tribe had their faces tattooed to avoid being kidnapped by the Burmese king of the time. There are only a handful of them left.
