LC-douglas-02
The Douglas Gaelic sports cubs held a collection for three worthy local charities on Saturday, December 8, at the GAA Club in Douglas Village between 10am and 3pm. Local families and children shared the spirit of Christmas with those less fortunate. The worthy causes that will benefit from the collection are Cork Simon, Good Shepherd Cork / Edel House homeless hostel for women and children and Cork ARC Cancer Support House. As well as financial support the collection accepted the following item Single Bed Clothes and Towels in good condition- Unopened Toiletries goods and non-perishable foods, New gifts for mothers, children and teenagers. The event also provides an opportunity for the three Gaelic sports clubs that compete under the Douglas name (Camogie, Ladies Football and Hurling and Football Clubs) to come together as a collective and give back to the local community. Contact is Martina Connolly.
