at North Monastery Primary School, Fairhill. The official unveiling of a mural at the North Monastery School, Fairhill, dedicated to the memory of Tomas MacCurtain, Terence MacSwiney (his successor as Lord Mayor, and also a past pupil of the school), and other famous alumni, including figures such as former Taoiseach Jack Lynch and all-Ireland winning captain of the Cork hurling team, Tomas Mulcahy. In attendance on the day will be Fionnuala MacCurtain, grand-daughter of Tomas; Cathal MacSwiney Brugha (grandson of both Terence MacSwiney and Cathal Brugha) Other, more recent, graduates of the school are also included on the mural, including prominent hurlers Seán óg ó Hailpín and the current Cork captain, Patrick Horgan.
