Cars drive past the 4metre high 'CityTrees' on St Patricks's Street, Cork City during the afternoon Car-Ban. The CityTrees are described as pieces of smart street furniture. Using Internet of Things (IOT) technology, they contain panels covered in a mixture of moss cultures that filter harmful pollutants out of the air. The Lord Mayor Cllr Colm Kelleher launched the Cork City Council Innovative Air Quality Strategy 2021-2026. The 'robotrees' also have information panels and electronic screen displays.
