ECHO / Irish Examiner Christmas Standalone NEWS. Paddling home for Christmas.... Aliona Kovalchuk and Jack O'Keeffe paddling on the River Lee. Kayakers taking part in the Cork Circumnavigation of the city centre island on Thursday 22nd December 2022. Departing from Crosses Green, behind the former Beamish & Crawford Brewery, the group travelled under the city bridges on the South Channel and upriver from Port of Cork to the Lee Fields via the North Channel before returning downriver, passing through University College, Cork and the Western Road.
