 DKANE 12th June 2024 REPRO FREE To celebrate Global Wind Week, renewable energy company Ørsted welcomed children from nearby national schools Kevin Lloyd, Eli Byron, Paddy Campion and Adam Coppinger, Scoil Rahealty NS Thurles to its windfarm in Lisheen, Baunmore, Co Kilkenny, which has been in operation since 2023. Students and members of the local community were given an opportunity to meet site supervisors and engineers to find out more on how wind farms operates. Comprised of Lisheen 1, 2 and 3, the wind farm generates a combined 89 MW of green energy, making it Ørsted’s largest wind farm in Ireland. Ørsted currently has 21 wind farms in operation across Ireland, and employees over 100 people at its Onshore HQ in Cork. Photo Darragh Kane
