David Murphy took his fifth Munster senior road bowling championship title with a victory over Martin Coppinger at the Ballincurrig road, Cork. A massive stake of €84.000 was raised by the bowling fans. Bowling can be traced back to the 1600s with Cork being a major stronghold and its organisation Bol Chumann na hEireann founded in Cork in 1954. Picture Dan Linehan
