The launching of the Titanic at Harland and Wolf shipyards in Belfast in May, 1911. Construction was completed on 2/04/1912. On its maiden voyage the liner struck an iceberg on 14/04/1912. Of the 2228 passangers and crew aboard only 705 survived.
