Cork Opera House throws open its door and rips its seats out (how very rock and roll) this Saturday 21st April at 8pm for the ultimate of rock fests with some of the finest of Corks upcoming and renowned bands storming the stage for a ‘rock-tastic’ standing gig. With Oxygen not happening this summer, Cork Rocks is determined to fill that rock void delivering 9 bands of superior talent to the Opera House stage just without the mud and wellies.
Cork Rocks is a series of events which has been happening over the course of the last number of months and continues to deliver the goods in each venue it visits. The brain child of Stephen Manning, one of Cork Opera House’s own talented stage technicians, Cork Rocks The House is a natural step to be taken by this entrepreneurial ‘techie’. After years of working on the music scene in Cork and further afield, Stephen has worked with some of the finest acts nationally and internationally. Cork Rocks the House sees his vision of Cork being a hub for musical expression come to life with the musical prowess of 9 different original bands rocking the stage where the legend that was Rory Gallagher played in 1987. These upcoming bands are ready to make the same musical journey as this Irish legend, starting with the mother of all stages in Cork, Cork Opera House.
The roof is sure to raised on this night with complete original sets being played by the likes of Slow Motion Heroes, Jodavino, Time Is A Thief, Rob the Nation, and many many more. Get your tickets now for the ultimate event in your music calendar.
