Kevin Elphick, Sadhbh Sullivan, Danny O'Neill, Eoin Coleman and Orlaith Carroll,Transition Year students at Beara Community School in Castletownbere, West Cork will unveil their unique children's book to a national audience on April 2nd in Croke Park as they represent the West Cork Enterprise Board at the national finals of the Student Enterprise Awards. Pic: Niall Duffy

Further Info:
“My Little Big Adventure" is an illustrated book which allows children to write in their own stories to accompany the pictures. The concept is the first of its kind and aims to unleash children's imaginations while allowing parents a window in to the wonderful and often surprising minds of their kids. The book can also become a keepsake for fun memories to be relived and shared with future generations.

My Little Big Adventure which retails for €9.95 with 10% going towards children's charity Barnardos is available in book stores throughout West Cork and can also be purchased online at http://mylittlebigadventure.weebly.com. The students whose book has only been available since late January have almost sold their entire first print run of 1000 books with this set to grow due to demand for a second run.

Speaking of the book, Sadhbh Sullivan, Managing Director said, "We are extremely excited to unveil our book to a national audience next week in Croke Park. Demand for the book has taken us by surprise and we are already looking at a second print run. There is nothing else like My Little Big Adventure on the market and we are already working on more books for the series to appeal to an even broader audience as well as looking at developing an app. There are huge opportunities for our books as they cross all language barriers so will have international appeal.

She continued, "The book allows children to become their very own favourite author, it encourages them to be creative while also helping them improve their literacy and with 10% going to Barnardos we think it's a win win for all!"
