Lunch time
'Lunch Time'. While out strolling in Phoenix Park, Dublin, I came across some deer trying to reach some leaves on a nearby tree, but to no avail, so I slowly approached and using one hand to bend the branch down to them, I used my other to take the shot.

Crab Spider catching a bee in our garden.
I noticed this bee, not moving, on a flower in the garden, so I thought, I know, it must be tired, I'll feed it some sugary water to revive it. So I called my 10 year old daughter Roisin and asked her did she want to revive the bee. We brought out a sugary solution, and it was when we were trying to feed the motionless bee from a spoon, that we realised the white spider had caught the bee, and was, in fact, the reason the bee was not moving. Poor Roisin was horrified. After looking on google, I found that crab spiders, rather than spin webs, sit on flowers waiting for insects to land and then bite them on the head, injecting them with a paralising venom. I've seen these spiders in my garden for years but never realised this was how they hunt their prey.

On a visit to Mayo to see my family, we took a boat trip from Blacksod Bay to Innishkea Island. As we were pulling up to the port, we saw the uninhabited village situated on a stunning beach, which set the scene for an amazing photo on a wonderful sunny day!
