I had returned from a dark sky area of Connemara after taking some images when I was driving home along the promenade in Salthill and I couldn’t my good fortune when I saw how bright it was over the city.

Heading home having been on the beach for a few hours. Afternoon Tide was incoming on a lovely late summer day at Ballinwilling Beach, east of Garryvoe, Co. Cork. Late afternoon sun, walking west towards Garryvoe Beach with Ballycotton on my left side, into the soon to be setting sun. As I stepped over, It literally begged me to take the photo, so I took a step back, crouched as low as possible and captured it. I had an I-phone 4 !!
