Loopy 
 Photo taken on 18 September near the Blasket Islands. The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group report that this is the 1st inter-annual re-sighting of #HBIRL006 also known as "Loopy" since Oct 2021. This latest record brings to 27 the no. of sightings of this humpback whale over 9 yrs since 2004, when he was first photographed by the Irish Naval Service in Oct. 2004 off Loop Head, Co. Clare. Of interest is that this is one of just 3 humpbacks that they have matched to the Caribbean breeding area of the Silver Bank off the Dominican Republic in Feb. 2004.
