This is a simple photograph with no photo shopping or special effects. The only special element is my gorgeous 2 year old nephew Dylan. It was his younger brother, Cian's Christening, and all he was interested in was some cake! There were 2 cakes....a Christening cake and birthday cake for another nephew. My brother was asking the birthday boy and a few cousins which cake they wanted. They hummed n hawwed for ages, and Dylan behind them was slightly confused and quitely saying....'I just want some cake'. This picture dipicts the contentment and happiness: The boy who eventually got his cake.

 No cobbler needed !
Makar Emelyanov
This picture was taken at Balbriggan harbour, Dublin, during the low tide. I am part of a photography institute and we went on a field trip to Balbriggan. At the time, we were not given a specific task, so I was camera crazy taking shots of anything interesting. I saw the women and child at the edge of that pier and looking at them made me think as if they were waiting on someone. Luckily, a boat approached to dock and it added to the image. The lighthouse looks almost like a habitable home. So I like to think that that is the ladies home and they are waiting for their husbands to come home from a fishing trip.

The photo was taken on the 01/03/2014 midday.

A walk in the park for mid-term break. 13 year old Katelyn O'Leary, Newmarket, Co. Cork is 5'7" tall and stands in front of a fallen tree in Killarney National Park with her grandad Nelius Horan, Scartaglen, Co. Kerry so as to give scale to the size of the tree that we came across. The trees in the background have also been damaged by the February 12th storm, you can see sections broken from them way up high. Picture: Billy Horan
