The Cork City Comhairle na nîg is a youth council representing Cork City. There are 34 Comhairle na nîg across Ireland. Comhairle na nîg members are aged between 12 and 18 years old and meet regularly and voluntarily throughout the year.

The website www.workwonders.ie has been created by the young people themselves as a fresh way for Cork CityÕs young people to take employment into their own hands. It gathers the most relevant advice, tips and support into one place and presents it to young people from their own perspective. The website features sections on Work and Career Preparation, Finding Jobs, Support for Entrepreneurs as well as a User Forum.

Nationally Cork City Comhairle na nîg is supported by the DCYA with local schools and youth services supporting it locally. As such, it is well structured and committed to involving young people in policy input and consultation.

Winning students will represent Ireland in the USA at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2015 ***
Picture shows from left Shannon and Rachel Ni Dhonnachadha who explored the Science of Punching, from St Vincents Secondary School, Seatown Place, Dundalk Co Louth who took part in SciFest an all-island science initiative which fosters active, collaborative and inquiry-based learning among second level students. This year saw a record number of over 6,000 students exhibiting their projects in local and regional science fairs across the country. There were 29 students who went on to exhibit their 15 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) projects at the national final held in the Marino Conference Centre in Dublin today. 
Mr Damien English, TD, Minister for Skills, Research & Innovation presented the SciFest@SFI Discover Grand Award. The prize includes the opportunity to represent Ireland at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2015 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The students teacher, received the Intel Teacher of Excellence award and will accompany them to Intel ISEF.
SciFest is funded primarily by the SFI Discover Programme, Intel Ireland and Boston Scientific.
