DSC 0062 This photo was taken in Glencar, Co. Kerry. It is a re-enactment of the public works 'road building' during the Irish Famine. The photo was taken on the remnants of an actual famine road. The model is wearing an old potato sack, an original hat from the famine and a torn trousers, bare foot as they were. There is little to no photographs of this time in our history. Thousands of Irish perished building 'roads no nowhere' in ice cold weather conditions.
Little swimmer I spend some of my weekends up at the river Dodder in Dublin trying to see if the kingfisher is lurking get lucky sometimes on this occasion it was not to be but I met some new faces and some old ones so nice to have a chat and I managed this lovely little Grebe fishing away for the day, I was lucky to snap him in some lovely sunny light I call it the little swimmer picture by Stephen Walsh.
winter wonder land I went out on my own to Sally Gap when the snow was about and new of the woods to snap this shot, I wasn't sure if the snow had entered the part that I hoping for so it was pot luck when I got there and no one had stepped on the steps just beautiful up around Lough Tay Co.Wicklow for a visit Picture by : Stephen Walsh and its called an Irish Winter Wonderland.

Bird Out walking my dog Odie I regularly pass this bird. Always standing by the waterfall in Murphy's Farm, Bishopstown. He kindly posed for a photo last Sunday for me! No matter how strong the flow of water he stands here very contented. A lesson for us all.
