 The MIchael Collins Suite at Room 115 at the Imperial Hotel Cork is to be unveiled on 22nd August 2022 to mark the centenary of his death. Michael Collins spent the last two nights of his life at the hotel, which was being used as a military base at the time. Former Hollywood actress Audrey Dalton, daughter of Major General Emmet Dalton visted the Michael Collins Suite, pictured here with (left) Garret Kelleher, Chairperson, Beal na Blath Commemoration Committee, and (right) Dermot Collins, Beal na Blath Commemoration Committee making a presentation of a Foxford rug to the Audrey Dalton at the Imperial Hotel, Cork. On August 22 1922 Emmet Dalton accompanied Michael Collins in convoy touring rural west Cork, which ended in the assasination of Collins at Beal na Blath. A Foxford rug had been presented to Michael Collins 100 years ago by Foxford and it was in the car at the time of his death. Pic: Larry Cummins
