Honey the Bumblebee Honey the Bumblebee, by Abbey Pyne aged 9 from Glanmire.... Here is the bee I found. I named him Honey. Daisy my dog was attacking him, Dad steered her away with the brush. He managed to scramble his way up the fence before Daisy could eat him. He rewarded himself with a good rest. After about ten minutes of resting he tried to fly away, he couldn?t he didn?t seem to find the energy. I didn?t understand, he had a good rest, what else did he need? Dad went inside, I guessed he needed to go to the bathroom. But about two minutes later he came out with a spoonful of honey. Of course, he was hungry. Dad held the spoon out carefully, Honey stuck out his tongue and began to drink it. It was a rare sight. Afterwards we had to leave. I really hope he?s OK.

DSC3577 Sunrise Over Ballyfermot Dublin 14. I took the image I think back in May this year. I was collecting a work friend for a few mornings, as his bike was out of action. Going over the hill over the Grand canal, I noticed a very weak sunrise the first morning. This morning, it was much the same. So I went and collected my friend from his house. Coming back over the hill I noticed the low cloud was breaking, so I grabbed the camera and got two shots of it. Brian J. Kelly.

20160522 kerry may16 cont Leaving Ballycarbery Castle I drove onto the bridge over estuary in Caherciveen where I saw this magnificent steel railway bridge. Bridge was in use from 1893 till 1960 and it was part of the Great Southern and Western Railway running service between Farranfore (half way between Killarney and Tralee) and Valentia Harbour.

DSC3266 It was the end of January start of February 2016 that I decided to take this image I've had in mind for ages. I wanted the cross on Bray head to be light up by the first rays of sunlight. I had to climb higher to get the cross and Bray sea front in the image. I waited for over an hour in biting cold easterly winds, and was rewarded with the image. Brian J Kelly.

Emperor Dragonflies mating Was watching a female emperor dragonfly skitting about over a pond near Ardmore when she was suddenly joined by a male. Clasped together they alighted on a tree nearby. Had to balance myself over some scrub and gorse overhanging a ravine to get some shots. Used flash to illuminate the shadows a little, the reflection of the sinking sun creating hexagonal shapes in their eyes.

SAM 1086 I picking herbs in my garden when I saw this wagtail chick take it's first flight from it's nest. He landed on the windowsil next to the bunch of keys. Eventually its mother came to his aid and they had a great reunion rubbing beaks and chirping.
